Meet Our Dedicated Team
Rosanne - Dental Hygienist - RDH
At the office, I promote good oral health by providing dental services and dental health education. I have been part of the Gentner Family Dentistry team since its beginning.
I graduated as Salutatorian from Ovid-Elsie High School in 1980. I also graduated from Ferris State in 1983 with an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. In school I was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Dental Hygiene Honor Society, graduated in the Top Ten of my Dental Hygiene class, and earned the Victor Spathelf Award for Honors and Service.
In 1983, I married the love of my life, Chuck. He works in telecommunications at MSU. I enjoy camping, scrapbooking, jogging, bike riding and crafts.
We are blessed with 2 sons and a daughter and their spouses: Michael and Sarah from California, Brianna and Craig and our precious granddaughter Brinley from Texas, and Jonathon and Mallory from St. Johns.
I have been a hygienist since 1983 and am blessed to be a part of the team at Gentner Family Dentistry where serving the needs of the community is our mission.
Alicia - Dental Hygienist - RDH
I joined GFD in 2019. I love the team here at GFD so much that I commute from Grand Rapids! Nothing makes me happier than bringing a smile to my patients faces.
I graduated from Carrollton High School in 2010. I married my husband, Alex in 2013 and gained 4 beautiful bonus children: Juliet, Andrew, Selene and Bianca. In 2015, we welcomed our miracle triplets to the family: Elena, Ethan and Eli.
I decided that after the triplets were born to pursue my dream of becoming a dental hygienist. I started school after their 1st birthday and in March of 2019, I graduated from Grand Rapids Community College with my Associates Degree in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene.
In my free time, I love spending time with my kids, being outdoors and reading. I am excited to see what the future will bring as a part of the team here at GFD!
MacKenzie – Hygiene Coordinator
In life, nothing is more gratifying to me than serving others and seeing the fruits that come from that. I joined the GFD team in hopes to give others a brighter smile in life. I look forward daily to growing with this team and fulfilling my desire to be all that I can be as a Hygiene Coordinator. I am grateful to be a part of a team that strives for excellence by providing the community with complete care with the utmost compassion for helping others.
In my free time I can be found spending time with my family and friends or exploring local shops and events. If not there, I love heading up north to soak up the sun and water and visit my favorite restaurants in Traverse City. Recently, I added a puppy named Bailey to my little family and couldn’t be happier. We had found her in a shelter in Chicago after being abandoned as a puppy and we instantly fell in love. She has brought so much joy to us already in such a short time, and we are both learning and growing every day!
Casey - Dental Hygienist - RDH
I was raised in Dahlonega, Georgia where I learned to appreciate the great outdoors. I love kayaking, fishing and hiking. In 2012, I moved to Michigan. My first winter here felt like Georgia, and it didn’t get very cold until right before Christmas. Then we got those two major ice storms (two in a row) and I knew that it would be an adjustment for me!
I pursued my dream of being a dental hygienist and graduated from Lansing Community College with my Associates Degree in dental hygiene in May of 2019. Shortly after, I was blessed to join the team at Gentner Family Dentistry. I am passionate about educating my patients and helping them strive towards health!
Nickie – Dental Assistant
As a person who loves to continually learn, I have found that Dentistry is an intriguing field for me to do that in. It’s thrilling that I get to do that at an office like GFD!
Here at GFD, we have advanced technology to ensure that we have the most contemporary office in our area and that we’re offering modern solution in dentistry. In the time that I have been a part of the GFD team, I have found that I undoubtedly have a passion for this field and I am contemplating furthering by education in dentistry by becoming a dental hygienist. We will see what the future holds!
I am an Ovid-Elsie graduate, Class of 2011. I am also a National Honor Society Career Quest Graduate, Class of 2015 for Administrative Assistance. It has taken me a few years and a few career changes to find my fit, which I have done here at GFD!
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and our pets. We like to enjoy the outdoors together and you can often find us fishing, kayaking, hiking or heading to the beach! We also like to get muddy in our truck at mod bogs. I am lucky to be spending my life with someone who has all the same interests as me! We will be celebrating our last dating anniversary this year (7 years!) before getting married in September of 2020. I am looking forward to my future with my fiancé and the GFD Team!
Kristie – Treatment Coordinator
Ever since I joined Dr. Gentner and Dr. Weatherwax’s team as an assistant, I have been welcomed into a warm and friendly environment. I look forward to bringing the same feeling to our patients each day. I have been very blessed to have been offered a position of Treatment Coordinator. As Treatment Coordinator, I work with our patients to develop the best plan according to their needs. Using videos, models and brochures, I make sure the patients understand the different treatment options that Dr. Gentner and Dr. Weatherwax are recommending – and what will happen if the patient chooses not to proceed with treatment. We want patients partnering with us for every step of their dental experience. I even help them coordinate their dental care with challenges such as schedules, health concerns, dental fear, insurance benefits and financial responsibilities.
I married my high school sweetheart of 14 years in June of 2014. In our free time, we love to be outdoors, up north and traveling Michigan with our daughter Addison and our son Trenton. We are so blessed and enjoy every moment with our children creating memories.
I am blessed to be a part of such an amazing dental team and look forward to building relationships with my team and our patients.
Sarah – Financial Coordinator
I joined the GFD team in May of 2019. As Financial Coordinator, I work with both dental and medical insurance companies to ensure our patients receive the care they need while maximizing their insurance benefits.
I received my Bachelors Degree in Community Health Education from Northern Michigan University in May of 2016, and just received my Masters Degree in Special Education from Ball State University in July of 2019. The last semester of my Masters Degree, I spent researching special needs and the dental office. My passion for special needs has continue to grow and flourish while working at GFD. I have worked in childcare and the medical field, working closely with those who have special needs.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, hiking, kayaking and scrapbooking as well as spending time outdoors!
Alex – Dental Assistant
I am fairly new to the GFD team and I couldn’t have picked a better family to join! I went to Ross Medical Education school for my Dental Assistant training and graduated with my certificate in 2017. I chose this career because I love to see people smile and gain their confidence back after treatment. Watching them gain their sparkle back gives me great happiness. All I want is for patients to be able to spread joy and smiles around that can change someone’s entire mood.
On my free time away from work, I love to spend time with my loving, funny and crazy family. They mean everything to me. Issace is my better half who helps me to pursue my goals and dreams and makes sure that I never doubt myself in anything I do. Together we have 4 beautiful kids. Our oldest daughter Adelena is 11, Esperanza is 4, Eliseo is 3 and our newest addition Priscilla arrived January 6th, 2020. All of them have a heart of gold and are my pride and joy.
I would love to continue my education further into the field of dentistry, possibly going back to school to become a dentist myself! With all the new technology and the education that I am gaining from Dr. Gentner and Dr. Weatherwax, I have the confidence to pursue my education to follow my dreams of becoming an amazing dentist like they are!
